I want people to STOP SAYING that the true/right/proper thing for a survivor of abuse is “TO FORGIVE.” OK?? We can simultaneously say “It’s fine for Rihanna to do a collaboration or 34892347 collaborations or hook back up with him and have lots of sex and babies if that is what she wants to do” without ALSO saying this prescriptive patronizing ~forgive and forget~ horseshit.
